Hi there, I’m Rachel..
a freelance copywriter & content creator.
Since 2004 I have worked as a magazine journalist, freelance writer, marketing, media and internal communications executive. Needless to say, I know my way around words – those tricky little buggers we use everyday, which, if you’re not practiced, can certainly escape you when you sit down to wrangle the right ones.
I started White Hot Ink in 2008 as a side business while working full time in a corporate communications role. This was in response to regular requests for a freelance copywriter, and ongoing magazine features work from previous employers. I studied journalism always with the goal of feature writing (I was one of those crazies hooked on the smell of magazines!), and have managed to use my writing skills not only as a magazine journalist and comms and PR exec, but also in other areas, working closely with marketers, designers, web developers and social media managers to craft copy that’s readable, reliable and on-point.
Since 2008, White Hot Ink has ebbed and flowed as I’ve progressed jobs, had babies, juggled life, and it’s now my sole focus (other than those babies who are now 8 and 4!)
My strengths are in feature writing (primarily for magazines), advertising copy, corporate communications and brand journalism, which is where I help you tell your brand’s story. Because every business has a story and it’s usually that story that differentiates you from your competitors and makes your customers want to.
And I can help with almost anything (probably everything) to do with words.
Get in touch if you think I can help you smith your words.
